Peeler Operator

Job Title: Peeler Operator (12hr shifts rotating days and nights)

£30596 per annum

Department: Processing

Reports to: Process Supervisor

Overall Role Purpose

The purpose of the role is to ensure that the peel quality/defects/variety of potatoes meet customer specifications and to ensure the operation and output of the peeler area

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Operate the peeling lines both chips and flake and to supply both lines with appropriate product
  • Performs quality checks to ensure that the peel quality meets customer specifications while maintaining process recovery rates
  • Adjust line if peel quality deviates from customer specifications/recovery
  • Conduct basic asset care of the peel line machines and maintains the cleanliness of working area
  • Register the raw in SAP system from vendors and warehouse
  • Confirm the raw used for orders in SAP system
  • Create the orders for Maintenance in SAP system and report any faults in machines
  • Work to meet customer and crop utilisation requirements
  • Report and escalate issues affecting performance of area in a timely way to supervisor or manager
  • Manage the raw blend as required to meet quality and production targets
  • Attend and contribute to MCS meetings
  • Complete a thorough handover at the end of each shift to counterpart on following shift
  • Ensure work is compliant with relevant health and safety, environmental and GMP practice
  • BBS (Behavioural Based Safety) – responsible for your own safety and for those around you
  • Carry out sanitation duties as required, including shutdown
  • Remain at your workstation until relieved at shift handover
  • Carry out “on the job” guidance, training, support for colleagues as required
  • Any other reasonable task as requested by your supervisor/manager

Math’s and English GCSE (or equivalent).

Lamb Weston chemical training, H+S, GMP

FLT – counterbalance and PPPT

PPT – to be completed

Experience

SCADA training/experience

2-3 years’ food manufacturing experience.

SAP/SCADA experience.
