CAPEX Controller

As a CAPEX Contoller you lead the controlling activities in the designated area of responsibility CAPEX. Lamb Weston in a business which is capital intensive and has a significant investment roadmap in the upcoming years. Besides that we have a regular CAPEX program to maintain the standard of its current assets. You will report to the Operations Controller. This role is based in Breda.

What you will do

  • Support senior stakeholders in Project Boards, Investment Board, and other leadership teams
  • Provide regular updates on AOR strategy execution from a Controlling perspective
  • Co-lead CAPEX responsibilities with Engineering Services Leader
  • Analyze and monitor CAPEX execution against plans, promoting transparent performance management
  • Drive an empowerment-based performance culture and continuous improvement
  • Align internal stakeholders to project delivery requirements
  • Lead project controllers to ensure compliance with processes, reporting, and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements
  • Coordinate risk management activities and internal control for the AOR
  • Responsible for business planning and control, including strategic planning and financial performance
  • Provide accurate and timely overviews of investment, cashflow, and balance sheet elements related to CAPEX projects
  • Advise Corporate Controller & Finance Lead on company profit and loss and balance sheet related to CAPEX
  • Act as a business partner with Engineering Services Leader and teams on Business Areas balance sheet and Profit & Loss

What do you bring to the table?

  • Bachelor level in Finance, Controlling, Business Administration or equivalent
  • At least 7 - 10 years of relevant professional experience in a controlling role in international environment, of which at least a period in project controlling
  • Business acumen and affinity within at least the AOR including professional experience
  • Good knowledge of best practices and finance/ controlling excellence
  • Experience in leading projects and teams
  • Strong understanding of Risk management and Corporate Governance practices
  • Financial understanding, strong numeric insight & analytical skills, modelling skills and attention to detail (accounting and reporting accuracy)
  • Ability to develop and effectively manage strong relationships and partnerships with internal customers and peers
  • Problem-solving, analytical and prioritization skills
  • A professional, planned and organized way of working, along with an objective and pragmatic approach.
  • A self-starter with a strong work ethic and the ability to work productively within a dynamic working environment.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and change
  • Good level of SAP and Business Objects experience required
  • Fluent in English both spoken and written, secondary modern languages including Dutch are considered advantageous
