Process Operator
Job Title: Fryer Operator (12hr shifts rotating days and nights)
Department: Processing
Reports to: Process Supervisor
Overall Role Purpose
The purpose of the role is to ensure that the frying quality meets customer specifications. To protect the brand, maintain trust and deliver our legal obligation by ensuring customers food is sourced and manufactured to the food integrity requirements of each customer.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Operate the fryer area including all aspects of frying and freezing operation
- Perform quality checks to ensure that the oil quality, frying temperature and dwell time produces products that meet customer specifications
- Complete hourly process paperwork as required
- Adjust frying temperature and/or time if frying quality deviates from customer specifications
- Ensure that the freezer is operating at the correct speed and temperature
- Conduct basic asset care of the fryer machine and maintains the cleanliness of own working area
- Raise M2 items where appropriate
- Oversee oil deliveries
- MPC optimisation
- Attend and contribute to MCS meetings
- Lead fryer cleaning and boil out during sanitation
- Escalate any issues affecting performance of area in a timely way to supervisor or manager
- Complete a thorough handover at the end of each shift to counterpart on following shift
- Ensure own work and own team’s work is compliant with relevant health and safety, environmental and GMP practices
- BBS (Behavioural Based Safety) – responsible for your own safety and for those around you
- Carry out sanitation duties as required, including shutdown
- Remain at your workstation until relieved at shift handover
- Carry out “on the job” guidance, training, support for colleagues as required
- Report and escalate production problems, issues with a supervisor, manager in a timely manner
- Support shift engineers with process advice on breakdown and repair
- Any other reasonable task as requested by your supervisor/manager

Qualifications
Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent).
Lamb Weston chemical training, H+S,GMP
MPC Training, Emergency Response team training
RPPT
PPT – to be completed
Experience
2-3 years’ food manufacturing experience.
SAP/SCADA experience.
