Manager Research & Methodology

At Lamb Weston we strive to make the best potato products that bring people together. To develop ever better products we develop ever more understanding of potato, our products and the way we make them into the loved fries and other products. Scientific research, sensory testing and measurement methodology are essential to gain this understanding and knowledge.

To fill an open spot due to an internal move we are looking for a Manager Research and Methodology in the Technology Development department. This function will lead the increase of scientific understanding and innovation in measuring methodology. We are looking for a manager who is able to lead a team of highly skilled food science and sensory professionals and further develop our body of knowledge.

This role is based in Kruiningen and you will report to the Director Technology Development.

What will you do?

• Lead the Research & Methodology team consisting of two Innovation scientists and two sensory specialists
• Ensure business relevance and delivery of results from the strategic research & science projects
• Support and challenge innovation projects from a scientific, sensory and measurement perspective
• Build and manage our foodtechnological body of knowledge
• Actively contributing to the professional advancement of the Technology Development department

What do you bring?

• University level in Food Science or related field
• 10+ years of experience in Food industry, Innovation, R&D or related
• Proven Leadership qualities with track of excellent execution & delivery of scientific projects
• Being able to link scientific knowledge to relevant business and vice versa
• Excellent knowledge of packaged food products, production processes and methodology/statistics
• Adept communicator who can effectively collaborate with a wide variety of people at all levels of the company
• Affinity with employing planning & budgeting processes as means to reach business goals & targets
• Practical, pragmatic, with ability to develop a holistic view
• Fluent in English, with working knowledge of other European languages beneficial
