Twister Fries with salt and pepper squid

Spicy and succulent crispy squid with crunchy Seasoned Twisters 

Serves 2

  • 200g Lamb Weston Seasoned Twisters
  • 150g sliced squid
  • 50ml milk
  • 30g plain flour
  • 20g panko
  • 5g five spice
  • Pinch of salt
  • 25ml olive oil
  • 1/2 onion
  • 5 sliced chillis
  • 2 sliced cloves of garlic
  • 2g Salt and cracked mixed peppercorns
  • 5g chopped coriander
  • 3g five spice 
  • Garnish with lemon wedges and chopped coriander



  1. Cut your squid into thin rings and place in a bowl with your milk.
  2. Mix together the flour, panko and five spice into another bowl.
  3. Fry your sliced onions and chilli's in olive oil then add 3g five spice and keep warm.
  4. Fry or bake your Lamb Weston Seasoned Twisters until golden and keep warm (Airfy: 10-18mins at 180 °C / Oven: 20mins at 200°C / Fry: 3:30mins at 175 °C).
  5. To Fry the squid - remove the squid rings one by one from the milk and pass them through the flour mix until they are fully coated.
  6. Fry the squid in hot oil for only 1min, then assemble your platter with squid and Seasoned Twisters. Top with salt and pepper onion mix, garnish with fresh lemon wedges and chopped coriander.
