A fun twist on the classic Italian dish with rich flavours and an extra crunch

Serves 2

  • 200g Lamb Weston Seasoned Twisters
  • 15ml olive oil
  • 1 diced onion
  • 2 crushed cloves of garlic
  • 200g minced beef
  • 200ml tomato passata
  • 5g mixed herbs
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 star anise
  • Season to taste with salt and pepper


  • basil leaves
  • 8g freshly grated Parmesan



  1. Fry the minced beef and onion in olive oil until brown.
  2. Stir in the garlic, mixed herbs, bay leaves and star anise.
  3. Add the tomato passata and simmer for 1 hour, adding a little water if the mix is too reduced.
  4. Fry or bake the Lamb Weston Seasoned Twisters until golden brown and place int a suitable serving bowl (Airfy: 10-18mins at 180 °C / Oven: 20mins at 200°C / Fry: 3:30mins at 175 °C).
  5. Top with the Bolognese sauce and garnish with torn basil leaves and freshly grated Parmesan.
