As a Sr. Regional Environmental Manager EMEA you provide Plant-Facing (reactive, proactive, and preventive) Environmental support (including Risk Management), strategy development & implementation, and guidance for EHS functions within Europe & ME, and Africa. The Sr. Regional Environmental Manager EMEA will be working in Breda and report to the Director EHS International.
What do you do?
Participate in operations council meetings, capital project review processes, Velocity implementation meetings, EHS related legal meetings, EHS related HR meetings, and other EHS related directional meetings as identified by the Director of EHS International;
Provide leadership, mentorship, and support for the EHS management system and supporting programming across all Europe, ME & Africa locations while working to embed a proactive EHS culture. Specifically, this role provides transitional leadership, integration planning & implementation, support of corporate programs, policies, and procedures consistent with corporate directives;
Leads and provides support to all facilities and projects to ensure that facilities and/or operations meet and achieve LW & host country rules and regulations in the EHS arena;
Support sustainable development program goals and objectives at the local level as defined by corporate direction;
Provides functional facility-level support, leadership, and direction to facility-level EHS professionals. Participates in the development and implementation of global EHS systems, standards, and specifications across all LW facilities, locations, sales offices, and projects in Europe, ME, & Africa;
Provides leadership, guidance, and support on EHS and operational topics to individuals working on expansion projects within Europe, ME, & Africa;
Work with Corporate and plant engineering resources to identify potential EHS impacts from capital investment projects as well as R&M projects and provide mitigation recommendations;
Supports the LW global EHS systems and standards integration activities, per facility-specific integration plans.
What do you bring?
At least a Bachelor or Master degree in Science (Engineering, Biology or Chemistry);
Licensed Professional Engineer and/or professional BCSP certifications desired, Safety (CSP) or Industrial Hygiene (CIH) preferred;
At least 10 years of relevant professional experience in progressive EHS management in a multi-national food manufacturing company;
Fluent in Dutch and English;
Expert knowledge and understanding of all environmental, health, &safety laws / regulations including ISO standards and their impact on the food industry: European, Middle East & African EHS regulatory interaction / experience preferred;
Ability to identify and contract international technical services to support local regulatory compliance, risk assessments, and risk mitigation and needs assessments;
Experience with developing engineering scope for new equipment selection to fulfill current, future and/or strategic compliance needs;
Ability to gain thorough understanding of LW operations, values, and goals;
People leadership skills in a corporate environment and proven ability to continuously develop direct reports;
Willingness to travel up to 30%
