Foreign Material Inspector (12hr shifts rotating days and nights)

Overall Role Purpose (Foreign material inspector)
The purpose of the role is to remove foreign bodies and poor-quality product from the processing line.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Remove foreign bodies from the processing line
Remove poor quality produce from the processing line
Maintain the cleanliness of working area
Escalate any problems, for example an excess of foreign bodies on the processing line, to the Process Supervisor
Complete a thorough handover at the end of each shift to counterpart on following shift
Ensure own work is compliant with relevant health and safety, environmental and GMP practice
BBS (Behavioural Based Safety) training – responsible for your own safety and for those around you
Carry out sanitation duties as required, including shutdown
Remain at your work station until relieved at shift handover
Carry out “on the job” guidance, training, support for colleagues as required
Report and escalate any issues with a supervisor or manager in a timely manner
Any other reasonable task as requested by your supervisor/manager
Overall Role Purpose (QA inspector)
The main purpose of the role is complete ½ hourly quality checks of the finished product against the finished product specifications and advise stakeholders of any deviations, with the aim of meeting AQL. Restrict any product which is out of specification.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Check the finished product quality against finished product specifications, including customer specific checks where relevant.
Inform relevant operators of any deviations from customer specifications and liaise with them with the aim to get product back into specification. Conduct rechecks in line with procedures and tag out of specification product.
Input data from quality and process checks into Excel /QA system/SAP and completes reference batch sheets.
Maintain the cleanliness of own working area and relevant equipment.
Ensures own work and own team’s work is compliant with relevant legal, health and safety, environmental and human resources policies, procedures, objectives, and regulations.
Carry out swabbing in line with Allergen and ATP swabbing schedules. Request recleans if needed and re-swab. Release equipment for use when all swabs pass.
Carry out calibration, weight checks and temperature checks in line with work schedule.
Complete ingredient checks for packaging.
Collect samples in line with procedure and as requested.
Log any Foreign material(FM) finds and restrict any FM contaminated product if required.
Completes a thorough handover at the end of each shift to counterpart on following shift.
Any other reasonable task as requested by your supervisor/manager and daytime QA
